Why did you become a member of the committee?
I work in education and support schools in carrying out STEM projects. Through membership of the committee I have a better understanding of  the broader context of physics and how wider issues may impact on my field. I am also a strong advocate of collaboration and I have been able to develop my professional network and build new partnerships.

What is the highlight of your role on the IOPS committee?
The highlight of being on the committee is meeting with other members and hearing about current issues in the field of physics. I like making a positive contribution. It’s so interesting to find out about the different aspects of industry, education and the wider community that physics impacts on.

How does being a committee member add value for the community?
I'm able to use my knowledge and skills for the benefit of the wider physics community and make contributions to a broad range of   activities. For example, when appropriate I provide advice and guidance on schools outreach and public engagement activities.
